Terry Richardson: icon of fashion photography?

Terry Richardson has become an icon of fashion photography, a celebrity, a prolific artist and a point of reference for his generation. He became famous because of his daring, provocative vision of fashion and fetishism, and now he's created a style of his own.

Born in New York, he was brought up in Hollywood, and as a teenager in a punk group he discovered his love of photography.

His passion for photography, sessions for Sisley and tales from his photo-shoots soon made him a media celebrity. His ability to open up his subjects and bring out controversial, undiscovered aspects of their character has allowed Terry to create a unique style which is emulated and admired.

He's worked for brands like Gucci, Chloe, Miu Miu, Lacoste, Sisley, Supreme, Hugo Boss, Costume National, Hysteric Glamour.... He's done portraits of celebs like Leonardo di Caprio, Tom Ford, Kanye West, Karl Lagerfeld, Barack Obama... And he's done cover pages and controversial editorials for Vogue, GQ, Harper´s Bazaar and Penthouse.

He's also published a number of books, like the one he did with Hysteric Glamour in 1998 and the interesting retrospective of his work published by Taschen, entitled Terryworld.
